Powder coating is a process in which polymer particles are uniformly sprayed on the surface of a material and cured by heating to form a coating film. Its working principle mainly includes four steps: powder spraying, electrostatic adsorption, heating melting and curing.
The first is the powder spraying stage, through the spraying equipment to evenly spray the powder on the surface of the object to be coated. Then the electrostatic adsorption stage, the use of electrostatic action to make the powder particles quickly and evenly adsorbed on the surface of the object, forming a layer of powder coating.
This is followed by a heat melting stage in which the powder-coated object is fed into a baking furnace for heat treatment. At high temperatures, the powder particles will melt into a liquid state and then solidify into a hard surface coating. Finally, the curing stage, the object to be coated in the process of thermal expansion and contraction, the powder coating film will be more firmly attached to the surface, forming a strong protective layer.
The working principle of powder coating makes it have the advantages of high efficiency, environmental protection, uniformity and durability. It is widely used in automobile manufacturing, furniture decoration, construction industry and other fields. Through in-depth understanding of the working principle of powder coatings, we can better choose the appropriate coating process, improve product quality and production efficiency.
